Dr John Osborne
BDS Hons (LOND), MSc (LOND), LDSRCS (ENG), Dip. Aesthetic Dentistry, Merit (KINGS LOND)
Dr John Osborne studied at Kings College (Guy’s Hospital), London University. In addition, he has completed numerous post-grad courses and lectured at Guy’s, London and Royal Dental Hospital, Melbourne. He opened the practice in 1976 and has now been here over 40 years.
Dr Osborne’s areas of special interest are Aesthetic Dentistry and Special Needs. He is a member of the Melbourne Seattle Study Club and enjoys cooking, philosophy and classical music.
Dr David Laskey
BChD, DRDP, MSc (ENDO)
Dr Laskey studied at Leeds University (Undergrad), then Chester University – MSc (ENDO), and the Eastman Dental Institute and University College London (Dip Restorative Dental Practice). Since graduating in 2004, he has also completed several Advanced Restorative Dentistry courses, including Dental Implants and Aesthetics. He has worked in private Referral Practice, in Cosmetics and Endodontics in UK and has taught as a clinical mentor at University of Sydney.
His areas of special interest are: Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants and Endodontics.
When not at work, Dr Laskey spends his time learning to sail, exploring the wine regions and reading.
Dr Austin Rhee
Dr Rhee graduated from the University of Melbourne with a BDSc (Bachelor of Dental Science) in 2004, joining our practice in 2005. His special interests are general and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association) and ASID (Australian Society of Implant Dentistry). Over the thirteen years Dr Rhee has been with the practice, he has built-up a large following with his gentle manner caring approach. Dr Rhee is a keen photographer and has been know to spend several hours working hard in his kitchen.
Dr Eric Liew
Dr Liew joined Dr John Osborne and his team at Mornington Pensinsula Dental Clinic in 2010.
He holds a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2007. His experience includes working in regional and metropolitan Victoria and time as a pre-clinical demonstrator. With an interest in general dentistry, Dr Liew believes in going through treatment options objectively with patients so they can make an informed decision on what treatment suits them best.
Dr Candace Naidoo
Dr Naidoo has been with us at Mornington Pensinsula Dental Clinic since 2011. Before joining us, she worked in both metropolitan and rural areas, including in major dental hospitals in Melbourne and Sydney. Dr Naidoo obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney and has since completed further study in Orthodontics as well as attending ongoing professional education courses. Her special interests are Aesthetic Dentistry and Smile Design, as well as all aspects of general dentistry. Dr Naidoo is a member of the ADA.
Dr Jacinta Traeger
Dr Traeger has a Bachelor of Biomedicine and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She is also a member of Australian Dental Association.
Since graduating from the University of Melbourne, she regularly attends continuing education courses to develop her skills and knowledge in dentistry.
Dr Trager’s aim is to provide gentle dental care in a friendly, welcoming environment. She enjoys all areas of general dentistry, especially restorative work. She also loves treating children and tries to make their dental experience as positive as possible. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys playing netball and cooking.
Dr Sunny Cheung
Dr Cheung joined Mornington Peninsula Dental Clinic in 2015, having graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours), as well as multiple awards.
He regularly attends courses to keep abreast of the latest developments in dentistry and is a member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association) and Peninsula Study Group.
His previous experience includes teaching dental students at the University of Melbourne and working in rural Victoria. Dr Cheung enjoys all aspects of modern dentistry, including treating nervous patients. When not at work, he plays tennis and is quite the maestro on the piano.
Dr Berenice Cheng
Dr Berenice Cheng completed her dental training at the University of Melbourne. Before joining the practice, she worked in metropolitan and rural Victoria as well as overseas in Canada for a season. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (ANZSPD) and currently sits on the Australian Dental Association’s Victorian Oral Health Committee. She enjoys general dentistry and being able to provide a pleasant dental experience for the whole family; especially our little ones! Dr Cheng also has a special interest in dental volunteerism and has lead and participated in numerous aid initiatives globally. Outside of the dentistry, she is also partial to good food, music and exploring the outdoors.
Dr Shannon Gune
Dr Shannon Gune graduated from the University of Melbourne and went on to complete a postgraduate clinical diploma in the field of restorative dentistry with an emphasis on prosthodontics and endodontics. In addition, he has completed numerous post-graduate courses with a particular interest in saving badly broken down teeth.
Dr Gune’s areas of special interest are endodontics and the restoration of severely broken teeth with modern adhesive technology.
Outside of dentistry Dr Gune enjoys dining out and trying new recipes.
Alison holds a Diploma of Applied Science (Dental Therapy) graduating in 1987. A Dental Therapist is specifically trained to treat patients up to the age of 18 years. A member of the ADOHTA, she has worked in community dental, paediatric and orthodontic practice before joining MPDC in 2009. Alison enjoys making the dental visit a positive experience for children of all ages, including those with special needs and dental phobias. Outside of dentistry, Alison is a mum of 3 and is involved in callisthenics.
Dr Giles Plunkett
Dr Plunkett graduated from the University of Melbourne with dental degree in 1977 and later returned to complete and graduate with a Master Degree in Orthodontics in 1987. Dr Plunkett established his Cheltenham orthodontic Practice in 1988 and has working at our clinic one Friday a month for over 20 years.
Along with this he is a senior clinical instructor at the University of Melbourne, an enthusiastic supporter of giving back to the community through the Give a Smile TM initiative and is a registered specialist orthodontist with the Dental Board of Australia and a full member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists.
John Rogan graduated in 1986 from the RMD Hospital, then undertook further studies at R.M.I.T and gained his Advanced Diploma in 1995 and additionally he has experience with general prosthetics, flexible dentures, partial dentures and implant retained dentures.
John previously had a successful denture practice in Dandenong for 20 years; he is semi-retired now but still consults from MPDC 2 sessions per week on a Monday and Thursday.
His special interests include lawn bowls and travelling the world with his wife.
