As your local children’s dentist, we look forward to helping you look after your kids’ teeth from baby to teenager and beyond!
Children’s dentist services we provide include:
We recommend that children start seeing the dentist when their first teeth appear or by the time they turn one year old.
You are welcome to bring them in earlier if you have any questions or concerns.
Young children generally only need to see the paediatric dentist every 6-12 months. We will talk to you about this at your appointment.
It is vital that children get used to coming in to see the dentist while they are young. This will help them form good associations and avoid any fear of dentists.
While children are growing, we monitor their facial growth and dental development closely. This will help avoid crowding of teeth and jaw issues. We also assess and address factors such as large tonsils, sleep apnoea or snoring, mouth breathing and thumb sucking.
Bring your children to see us so that we can diagnose any problems early and your child can develop a happy, healthy, trusting relationship with our children’s dentist. Our approach to kids dental care ensures that your child feels safe and relaxed during each visit.
If your child plays a contact sport, a fitted mouthguard from your dentist offers the best protection. Chat to us about the colours and styles available
Energy and sports drinks contain high levels of acid and sugar. These can start destroying teeth after only a few days of consistent use. Damaged enamel can cause sensitivity and susceptibility to decay and cavities.

Our practice supports the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) and we bulk bill all eligible children.
The Government funded Child Dental Benefit Schedule is now available for families with children aged 2-17 years. Families must receive Government Benefits. The CDBS has a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment. If children are eligible, they receive up to $1000 over two calendar years for preventative and restorative dentistry.
Note that the CDBS scheme does not cover cosmetic dental work or orthodontics.
Here at our practice, we support this initiative. We bulk-bill all dental treatment for children covered under the CBDS scheme. To check if you are eligible or check your remaining funds, please contact Medicare or contact us.
